eco fashion news and reviews brought to you by Greenloop
The lovely Abigail Doan of Inhabitat keeps us informed on the upcoming eco fashion madness in New York City…
The 2nd Annual Project Earth Day Student Eco-Fashion Show is coming up on April 24 here in NYC, and Inhabitat will be there scouting the runway for future eco-fashion stars and sustainable style innovators! We will cover both the Project Earth Day Eco-Fashion Show as well as the student competition, and we are totally psyched to report on ‘just how green’ this year’s student line up will be. Last year’s runway show featured a dazzling line up of future-forward creations, and the 2008 competition is bound to up the ante on new and improved ways to advance green design and couture.
Project Earth Day 2008 will again be held at the environmentally sleek Teknion showroom and will be organized by Emerging Green Builders of New York (EGBNY) and the local chapter of USGBC with a still to be announced list of co-sponsors. Organizers are looking for fresh talent to explore the theme of ‘how green are you?’ as well as the concept of how the built (green) environment inspires cutting-edge eco-fashion design. Designs chosen for the runway presentation will be judged based on the designer’s aesthetic sensibility, the execution of design, and the clever incorporation of one or more ecological design principles.
Greenloop represents the fusion of aesthetics and ethics, of style and sustainability, by providing the opportunity to look good AND do good without sacrificing your sense of style.
